Bring It On add-in for IE
Everybody knows importance of registry in Windows OS. And on the Internet there is a lot of references to registry settings, explaining where some particular registry keys are, what different registry keys and values mean to computer, how to find and change some important settings, etc. Now imagine - you open a web page which refers to a registry key or a value and you want to bring that key directly to your registry editor and compare values on your computer with values mentioned on that web page. Usually it takes a while. You have to start registry editor, then you have to navigate to that key step by step. It's quite slow process that requires time, patience and lot of accuracy entering new and new subkeys until you finally reach your target.

With this IE add-in it's become very easy. You highlight the key on a web page, then make right click and choose Bring It On and immediately after that IE opens your key in RegEditX.exe program. You need to check another reference - again, highlight new key and choose Bring It On. In a moment you see the key in your computer. It saves your time - you don't have to navigate to that key step by step.

Similar story is about files and folders. If you see a reference to a file or to a folder on web page, you may easily bring it on to your Windows Explorer. Just highlight the full name (including its path) in IE and choose Bring It On. In a moment you will see it in WE.

Below are examples of registry keys and files/folders that you may want to see from your computer. If you have already installed Bring It On add-in you may test it right here. Remember - highlight an example below, make right click and choose corresponding menu item - and you'll see it.

RegEditX
Registry keys on web pages may use different formats. Here is key beginning with full format hive name:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats]

Here is a key with short name for the hive:

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Bring It On]

Here is another example of keys's format. It doesn't have square brackets around the key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0

In this example there are extra white spaces in the key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services]

There are extra backslashes in the key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Bring It On]

Windows Explorer
Files
Here is a regular file:
%SystemRoot%\Web\BIO\Readme.txt

This file doesn't have an extension:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Folders
Here is a common folder to look:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Here is just another common folder that you may want to visit:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

You may check even folders that are specified in environment variables:

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
%HOMEPATH%
%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs
%CommonProgramFiles%
%TEMP%

Add-in and ActiveX control
This add-in uses ActiveX method of starting program on computer. ActiveX runs in Local Computer Zone. By default when IE browser starts an ActiveX - it may show dialog box asking for for confirmation allowing to run that ActiveX control in Local Computer Zone. You have to press Yes button.

In order to avoid that annoying dialog box we recommend to change setting for My Computer (Local Computer) Zone allowing initializing and script ActiveX controls. Our installer will prompt you to do so and, with your permission, it will help to change that setting for you. If you'll decide to change it later - you may do it by reinstalling the add-in.

You may look at registry value that allows or restricts initialization and run of ActiveX controls in Local Computer Zone. Check value "1201" in this key:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0]
"1201"=dword:00000000
Supported values are:
0 - action is permitted (enabled)
   1 - makes prompt
3 - action is not allowed (disabled)
You may change it manually if you wish.
